The turning point:

My turning point came when after climbing stairs I used to hyperventilate. I live on the third floor, and the struggle was getting real. That’s when I realised enough is enough.

4 egg whites, 1 whole egg omelette with 2 slices of multigrain bread with peanut butter and oats in hot milk

2 raw spinach or methi stuffed chapati, dal, green veggies and plain curd

Grilled paneer, 1 bowl of dal or any vegetable with green salad and small portion of sprouts

indulge in:

It depends on my mood. It can be a pizza, pasta, chole bhature, dal makhni with lachha parantha, samosa chaat with chole, or spring rolls

My workout:

Body toning and strengthening exercises (one body part per day). I also include intervals of cardio recovery in between. I also did core workout three times a week. I strictly followed the workout plan and diet chart prepared by my trainer, Kashish Arora.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by:

Chia pudding, strawberry smoothie, banana shake and french toast

Fitness secrets I unveiled:

It is very important to keep your metabolism up and running. You can easily do that by feeding your body every three hours. Make your portion size smaller and eat at regular intervals. Also, include a variety of nuts or seeds such as almonds, walnuts, pine nuts, flax seeds, chia seeds and sunflower seeds. Also, drinking around five litres of water daily helped me a lot.

How do I stay motivated?

I get a lot of motivation from family, friends, my trainer and my gym.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?

Looking in the mirror and seeing my daily progress is a big motivating factor. Also, the compliments that I receive is a driving force as well.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

Finding nice clothes that fit you. And, becoming tired very easily.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?

Fitter and leaner with increased muscle mass.

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

Eating within 30 minutes of waking up, eating regularly and in small portions, including maximum number of vitamins in my diet, and going to the gym five or six times a week.
